Come Strut your Mutt along the Bluff! 
       ...at the 2010 Animal Aid Mutt March on the Bluff in St. Joseph ! We'll be struttin' and a -strollin' to support those animals who need us most on Saturday, 11 September 2010, 11 am - 2 pm, . (In case of thunderstorm, the Mutt March will be Sunday the 12th at 11am). 

We'll also feature many Exhibitors set up along the walk area, including veterinarians, pet-related businesses, and other rescue organizations. Check for special hours at some booths and plan your visit accordingly. (Full list below)

How Does Mutt March Work?

1. Solicit donations from relatives, friends, co-workers and businesses to sponsor you and your dog(s), or just make a donation yourself! Watch your mail for a Registration Form, Download  A Registration form from this website or pick one up locally at participating vets, event Sponsors, or Pet Supplies Plus. You may also write down Sponsor's Name, Donation, and Total $ on a sheet of paper and fill out a form at Event Registration.

2. Challenge your friends, co-workers, other businesses, sports team rivals, etc. to gather sponsors and walk, too! It's good fun, good exercise, good company, and best of all, they'll be helping make our area even a better place to live for pets and people!  You can create a Firstgiving website at www.firstgiving.com so that your donors can sponsor you and your pet ahead of time and pay by credit card with their quick and secure non-profit fundraising program.  You can even personalize your firstgiving page with a picture of the pet you are walking!  Just list Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan as your firstgiving charity then email the web address of your firstgiving site to your friends and relatives and ask them to make a donation on your behalf.  Its that simple!  Firstgiving tallies the donations, sends them a receipt for their donation and mails the donation to Animal Aid!

3. Turn in your pledges and pledge sheet with totals (including $6 registration fee) at Registration before you start to walk. Please note the change in  the Registration Table location!  Registration tables will be located near the Pavillion south of the stairway near the area across from the  Boulevard Hotel.   NOTE: Sponsor Forms will be available on-site if for those who drop by and simply want to make a donation on their own to walk.

4. Walk your dog(s) along Lake Bluff Park. You will be able to visit many wonderful exhibitors displaying pet related products and services and many exhibitors will be passing out free goodies and samples, but ONLY to registered walkers!

The funds you raise pay for medical care and spaying or neutering of homeless dogs and cats helped by Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan. We are volunteers: all money helps the animals.

 Don't Have a Dog to Walk?

       We will have a limited number of foster dogs for adoption who would love to walk --or just visit -- with you. Each will be accompanied by a volunteer who can answer your questions about the animals and about Animal Aid. Our foster dogs hope you will tell your "dogless" friends about them. Look for them in their special bandannas. Please note: foster dogs MUST be walked by an adult!

We are accepting Exhibitor Registrations at this time.  This is a wonderful opportunity for you to promote your business, organization or pet related service.  If you would like to be an exhibitor at the Mutt March please download the Exhibitor Registration Packet (note there are 3 pages to the download) fill it out and return it as instructed.  Exhibitor Registration must be turned in before 8/20/2010!

Once again this year, we have asked veterinarians, pet businesses and animal organizations to set up a table along the Mutt March route. Below is a list of participants to date:

Be A Mutt March Sponsor!

I would like to be a sponsor of the Mutt March and have our logo displayed on the Mutt March Banner! I understand the cost of this is $50.00 and I will send our logo in pdf, ai, or psd format at 75 dpi to rademaker@sbcglobal.net and mail a check made out to Animal Aid to 1201 Orchard Ave. St. Joseph MI 49085

Sponsors will also be listed on the the website and in our newsletter!  Even if you cannot attend the Mutt March you can help us help them by becoming a sponsor today!

Remember:

 
  1. Pets must be on leashes and have proof of inoculations.
  2. Stop and visit with exhibitors along the way! We'd appreciate your support of these businesses and groups afterward.
  3. Water will be available for your dog.
  4. Please clean up after your pet. Plastic Scoop Patrol bags will be provided at registration.
  5. There will be NO feline fosters participating this year.
  6. We must ask any unruly four-legged guests to leave.

Can't make it and don't know any walkers, but would like to donate anyway?

       Pet Supplies Plus on Mall Drive in Benton Harbor and PawMart in the Martin's Plaza on Cleveland Avenue in St. Joseph both have a bin by the door for contributions of pet food, toys, treats, and goodies.
